New professor within digital production and smart factories joins the department

At the Faculty of Technical Sciences at Aarhus University, the ambition is to develop a new strategic initiative within digital production and smart factories, and Charles Møller will be responsible for driving this initiative.

Charles Møller has since 1992 been connected to Aalborg University, except for a period between 2001 and 2007, when he was at Aarhus University. He is researching the interplay between operations and information systems in the industry where the perspectives include technology, processes, and management. Current research interests include ERP/MES systems, IT/OT integration, the development of digital supply chains, smart factories and smart production.

Charles Møller was part of the organizing group of the Danish manufacturing platform: Manufacturing Academy of Denmark (MADE) when it was established in 2014. He has since then been active in the MADE organization and activities. In MADE his research areas are: Digital Supply Chains, Smart Factories and Value Chain Execution and Optimization.

Charles Møller has an engineering background as M.Sc. (Electrical Engineering) from the Technical University of Denmark, and a PhD degree (Industrial Engineering) from Aalborg University.
