Summer greetings from Anders

The summer holidays are just around the corner, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you

Dear All,

The summer holidays are just around the corner, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you. Thank you very much for a successful half-year, where we have come even further in our integration project at the department.

I notice that we collaborate more across programmes and sections, and I also see that we have made a better place in the new framework at Katrinebjerg both in the offices and with the laboratories. With this in mind, we do still have a long way to develop the frameworks, both to accommodate all our colleagues, who are still at Navitas, all our students, all the students at the project and not least the last laboratories. I am confident in the process that we, together with the TECH Building department, are working to create the necessary place in a proper quality for both employees and students. It is crucial for me in this process that we first move the remaining things up here when we have a comprehensive and satisfactory plan for all units. We have to avoid dripping relocations and long periods of mess. We will not copy the previous relocation process.

I would also like to thank all of you for your input in APV work. Your inputs are extremely important for the continued development of the Department, and it is really good to hear about your experiences and wishes for the future. Many of the initiatives signal a desire for greater academic and social cohesion at the department, and I can only support this. LAMU and LSU have reviewed all of the working groups' initiatives, and we are now in the process of planning the next steps in the work. Not all ideas can be made, but we are already in the process of addressing a number of ideas. You will hear more about this.

Since the beginning of the year, we have welcomed many new employees, and this has been particularly possible because last year we doubled the proportion of external funding received. On this basis, we are looking into having to welcome several new colleagues over the next couple of years. This is something we can be proud of.

It is also gratifying that Martin Heide Jørgensen has taken over the function of Deputy head of Department for Education from 1. April. Martin has got off to a good start and is well on the way to the allocation work and the new curriculum-based teaching planning.

Finally, I also hear that the exams are well-attended with good results for our talented students. This is an essential part of our work at the department, and I'm pleased to see your indomitable commitment in our students, despite the many changes that the department is through.

You can all be proud of the effort, because it is your hard work that is the basis for it.

I wish you a good and well-deserved summer holiday.

Best wishes Anders
