News from the Laboratory Committee
The Laboratory Committee and the management have selected new initiatives from the idea catalogue “New and better ways to use our labs”:
Fault-reporting policy
To strengthen the reporting of damaged equipment, we will launch a pilot project in the Mechatronics Lab in spring 2026. This project will test the setup and use of QR codes for anonymous reporting of broken or missing equipment. Following the pilot, the goal is to implement QR-code reporting across all labs.
Station-based practical course
Another initiative is the development of a station-based course designed to introduce first-semester B.Eng., B.Sc., and M.Sc. students to our prototyping facilities. A pilot run is scheduled for the spring semester of 2026. The aim is to create a motivating and educational program that is scalable, efficient, and helps students become more self-reliant within the framework of the course.
Laboratory relocation
Claus Melvad’s employees have relocated from the Production Lab to the first floor above the Materials Lab and are now working in room 5360-212. This move is carried out to make space for machines and equipment.
