Guest researchers and interns

As member of staff at the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering, you are welcome to invite guests. If you wish to invite a guest, please follow the procedure below.

Guests are welcome at Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering. If you consider inviting a guest, you must make sure that your head of section has approved the stay and the guest must be able to finance the visit on his own without financial support from Aarhus University.

Please send an e-mail to Helle Elbæk Alfastsen. Then she will contact the guest and take care of the formal part of the paper work.

Please send the following information about ALL guests (EU and non-EU) three months prior to planned arrival:

• Approval from the head of section in an e-mail
• The head of department's approval by e-mail if it is an Intern    
• Name of the guest
• Date of birth
• Title (student (Intern), guest PhD-student or guest researcher)    
• Copy of the guest's passport if it is an intern
• In which period will the guest be visiting Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering
• If the guest terminate their stay at MPE before the agreed time, Helle Elbæk Alfastsen (hea@mpe.au.dk) must be notified due to work and residence permits, for which MPE is liable
• E-mail address of the guest
• Home university of the guest
• Where will the guest be staying? (department address)
• Is an NDA/IPR agreement necessary

If the guest needs a formal letter of invitation, please send your request to mpe@au.dk and the Secretariat will ask the Head of Department for signature. Please be aware that the Head of Department is the only person who can sign the letter of invitation.    

At Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering we ONLY use our own internship agreement which can only be signed by the Head of Department.

Please notice that both paid and unpaid work requires a Danish work permit.

Due to COVID-19 situation, it is not allowed to enter Denmark earlier than 14 days before the start date.
